Deoghar. Farmers can earn maximum profit at less cost by cultivating mushrooms and now farmers in India are showing their interest in mushroom cultivation. However, it becomes very important to take care in mushroom cultivation. Mushrooms are more prone to disease, due to this the farmer may have to face losses in mushroom cultivation. At present the month of December is going on and the cold is increasing day by day. Rising cold is not a major problem for mushrooms, but falling temperatures can cause the bag to melt due to excess moisture and the mushrooms may get ruined. It becomes necessary to take care of this thing. Along with this, what other things should be taken care of in the cold season, do you know from the mushroom expert in mushroom cultivation?
What experts say:
Deoghar’s mushroom expert Ranjit Jha, while talking to Local 18 correspondent, said that winter season is considered the best season for mushroom cultivation. Production increases in this season. But along with this, it also becomes very important to take care during the winter season, otherwise diseases like rot can ruin the mushroom crop. Although fog does not harm the mushrooms in the winter season, but in the month of December, due to excessive westerly wind, the mushrooms may get harmed. The westerly wind is usually dry and hot. This air quickly absorbs moisture from the mushroom farm or shed, causing the substrate to dry out and the mushrooms to stunt their growth or spoil them.
Take these measures to protect yourself from westerly wind:
Mushroom experts say that when the westerly wind blows during the cold season, at least the air should go into the room or the place where you are cultivating mushrooms. Along with this, also keep in mind that direct sunlight is not falling on the mushroom as it can cause damage to the mushroom. Mushrooms require oxygen after fruiting. For this, try to give the mushrooms as much morning or night air as possible. This will further increase production.
