Jharkhand News: Police of many states can interrogate the gangster brought after extradition from Azerbaijan. Different cases are registered against gangster Sunil Meeni alias Mayank Singh in many states. In such a situation, police of states other than Jharkhand can take him on remand.
Ranchi: Notorious gangster Sunil Meena alias Mayank Singh, who was arrested from Azerbaijan and brought to Jharkhand, is on the radar of police of many states. After his arrest, secrets related to many big gangs and interstate networks are going to be revealed. Jharkhand Police has collected many important information during the interrogation, but now the scope of the interrogation is going to increase because the police of many states including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal also want to take him on remand and interrogate him.
According to sources, Sunil Meena used to organize incidents like extortion, firing and gang war in many states of India while sitting abroad. He is considered close to gangsters like Aman Sahu and Lawrence Vishnoi. After his arrest, the initial interrogation of ATS has revealed many shocking information related to Pakistan connection, supply of arms and hawala transactions. These revelations have alerted the security agencies.
Cases are registered in many states
ATS SP Rishabh Jha said that police of other states are in constant touch with them. Based on the cases registered in different states, they may be allowed to interrogate Meena under the legal process. It is being told that many serious cases are registered against him in UP, while evidence of organized crime related to him has been found in Maharashtra and Bengal also. Rajasthan Police is also preparing to take him on remand and interrogate him soon. His name has also surfaced in the firing at Kachhari Road petrol pump in Ajmer district.
Police investigating foreign connections
Gangster Mayank Singh alias Meena had his base in Azerbaijan and from there he ran his criminal network in many states including Jharkhand. After being caught by ATS, many of his digital records, foreign transactions and gang related contacts are being scrutinized. His arrest is being considered to have a big impact on the Aman Sahu-Vishnoi network. At present, Jharkhand ATS is continuing to interrogate him, while special teams of other states have also opened files of cases related to him. Many secrets are hidden with him, once they come out the big picture of the crime network operating in the states can become clear.
