The appearance of crusts (blisters) on the hands during the cold season, which is also called ulceration of the hands in Chhattisgarh, is a major problem that occurs in cold weather, which occurs in many people. Due to cold air, the skin of the hands starts appearing flaky, rough and having white marks. Many times this problem becomes more serious due to frequent hand washing, excessive use of soap and coming in contact with cold water. In some people, it also causes burning sensation and slight itching.

Regarding this, AYUSH doctor PB Diwan told that in cold weather, the upper layer of skin often starts coming out from the palm through dead cells, this usually happens due to low moisture of the skin or extreme cold, excessive use of hot water, or due to mild eczema. To avoid this problem, hands should be moisturized.

He also said that if timely care is not taken, then this flaky dryness can turn into small cracks (like cracks), which also increases the risk of infection, hence the skin needs extra care in this season, for which moisturizer should be applied on the hands after bathing in the morning and before sleeping at night. If possible, wearing gloves is very beneficial.

Dr. Diwan told about the use of home remedies to prevent blisters on hands that coconut oil should be applied, it nourishes the skin from within due to its anti-fungal and moisturizing properties, applying glycerine keeps the hands soft for a long time by locking the moisture in the skin, and washing hands by adding a few drops of lemon and honey in lukewarm water also provides relief.

There is a need to take precautions to prevent lice in the palm, such as avoid washing hands repeatedly with cold water in winter, and use mild handwash instead of soap, use natural oils, this can get rid of the problem of lice and skin peeling in winter.
