Uttarakhand Weather Today: According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, the morning of December 7 will start with cold wind and fog in Uttarakhand. The minimum temperature in the plain areas is expected to reach around 5°C to 8°C, while in the hilly districts the temperature may be recorded between 0°C to 3°C. There is a possibility of snowfall in high altitude areas.
Rishikesh: The weather of 7 December 2025 in Uttarakhand seems to be making the continuously changing situation more serious. Most of the hilly areas of the state are likely to be cloudy with cold winds, while the higher areas may receive light snowfall. According to the Meteorological Department, due to cold wave, the temperature can drop rapidly and due to increase in moisture in the air, the chill will be felt more intensely. On the other hand, plains districts like Dehradun, Haridwar, Roorkee and Kashipur may remain covered with a thick blanket of fog in the morning, which is likely to reduce visibility and affect traffic.

The minimum temperature in the plain areas is expected to reach around 5°C to 8°C, while in the hilly districts the temperature may be recorded between 0°C to 3°C. There is a possibility of frost in the morning in high altitude areas like Badrinath, Auli, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Munsiyari etc., due to which the roads will become slippery. Gusts of cold wind will increase the chill and there will be a possibility of thick layer of fog forming on the banks of Ganga and other rivers.
There will be some softening in the weather during the day, but the relief will not be as much as is generally expected. In the plains the maximum day temperature can be between 18°C to 20°C, whereas in the hilly areas it will be only between 8°C to 12°C. There will be light sunshine, but clouds will cover the sunshine from time to time. If the amount of clouds remains high, the possibility of light rain or snow drops will increase in many areas. In such a situation, cold can be felt even more, because moisture and wind together reduce the effect of temperature.

As night falls, the cold of December 7 can become more dangerous. The night temperature in the plains will be around 5°C to 7°C, while in the hilly districts the mercury may drop to –1°C to 2°C. There is also a possibility of snow accumulation along with severe cold in the higher areas, due to which a layer of ice can accumulate on the roads and driving will become difficult. At night the air will become cooler with moisture, which may reduce the body’s ability to maintain balanced temperature.
