New Delhi. Now the army will be able to reach the border areas more quickly. The Border Road Organization has prepared 125 projects, which Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will dedicate to the nation on Sunday from the 920 meter long cut-and-cover Shyok Tunnel built on the Daulat Beg Oldi-Shyok-Darbuk road in Ladakh. For the first time, the Border Roads Organization (BRO) has prepared so many projects simultaneously. These include 28 roads, 93 permanent bridges and 4 other strategic projects. With this step of BRO, the army will reach the border areas soon and the local people will also benefit.
These projects are in 7 states Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Mizoram and 2 union territories Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from Shyok Tunnel, the country’s first 3D-printed High Altitude Defense Complex built in Chandigarh will also be inaugurated tomorrow. Which will provide state-of-the-art accommodation and operational facilities to the army.
Which are the projects?
Region wise major projects in Ladakh: 8 roads, 28 bridges, Shyok Tunnel built. In Arunachal Pradesh, 10 roads, 20 bridges (Sela-Chabrela-BJG Road, Lumla-one and two, Shungetsar-one and two bridges), alternative route till Tawang will be strengthened. Kalep-Gagong Road, Rabam Chu and Sanklang Bridge in Sikkim which will ensure access to forward posts even after the disaster. 20 permanent bridges were built in Jammu and Kashmir. Tuichanglui and Gausan bridges were built on the Longtlai-Diltlang-Parwa axis in Mizoram, which will strengthen logistics on the India-Myanmar-Bangladesh border.
what will be the benefit
With these projects, the movement of military vehicles will speed up and electricity, education and health facilities will reach remote villages. In May this year, 50 projects and in the last two years a total of 356 projects have been dedicated to the nation. The budget of BRO has been increased from ₹ 6,500 crore to ₹ 7,146 crore. Senior officers including DGBR Lieutenant General Raghu Srinivasan will be present in the program. BRO personnel worked hard day and night in the harsh cold and at an altitude of more than 14,000 feet and completed this project before time. Defense Minister will also give special honor to these soldiers
