Omar Abdullah News: Omar Abdullah spoke openly on the weak condition of ‘India’ alliance, Nitish Kumar’s entry into NDA, BJP’s election strategy and the need of Congress. He said that after the 2024 elections, the central government has changed its approach. Now they use the word ‘NDA government’ instead of BJP government.
New Delhi. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has shown the mirror to the opposition. He spoke openly at the ‘Hindustan Times Leadership Summit’ in Delhi. Abdullah admitted that the condition of ‘India’ alliance is very bad. He said that we are on life support system. Sometimes we get up but fall again after results like Bihar. He praised BJP’s election fighting style. According to Abdullah, BJP fights every election considering it a question of life and death. Whereas the opposition wakes up two months before the elections. He also admitted that the alliance itself sent Nitish Kumar to BJP. Abdullah also expressed his frank opinion on the results of 2024 and Muslim vote bank.
‘India’ alliance on ventilator, we lost Nitish: Abdullah compared the alliance to a sick patient. He said that in a way we are on life support. Sometimes someone gives us support and we stand up. But then results like Bihar come and we fall. Then someone has to take us to the ICU. He made a big confession on the issue of Nitish Kumar. Abdullah said that we ourselves have pushed Nitish into the lap of NDA. The alliance could not form a consensus. Despite being a party in Bihar, keeping JMM out of seat sharing was also a wrong decision. Strategic shortcomings in the opposition alliance are clearly visible.
BJP’s election machine and PM Modi’s model: CM described BJP’s working style as ‘unique’. He said that BJP has a wonderful election machine. This power does not come just from money or organization. He fights every election as if his life depends on it. On the other hand, we fight like we don’t care. Modi and his team work on the model of politics 24 hours a day. As soon as one election is over, they move to the next area. We enter those states two months before the elections. If we form an alliance before nomination, we consider ourselves lucky.
Congress is the only option, warning on Muslim vote: He also talked about future strategy. Abdullah said that to challenge BJP, there will be a need to unite around Congress. Regional parties have their own geographical boundaries. Only Congress has presence in the entire country. Therefore he will have to lead. He warned the parties on Muslim voters. He said that it was a mistake to take Muslims lightly. Parties communicate with them only during elections. Parties like AIMIM are benefiting from this. He talks about their issues for the whole five years.
Modi government changed itself, now NDA government: Abdullah did not consider the results of 2024 a coincidence. He said that the public gave the message that everything is not well. But after the elections the central government has changed its approach. Now they use the word ‘NDA government’ instead of BJP government. PM Modi is now taking his allies along. We hardly remember that this is a coalition government. He has redesigned the way of working. These are small changes but their importance is very high.
