New Delhi. The ongoing tussle for power within the ruling Congress in Karnataka has now reached Delhi. The situation in Karnataka was discussed in the Congress leadership meeting held at Sonia Gandhi’s house on Saturday, but no decision could be taken. Party General Secretary K. C. Venugopal gave this information. He said that the party leadership will discuss further regarding Karnataka, so that this issue can be resolved as soon as possible.
Other political issues were also discussed in the Congress leadership meeting. After the Congress meeting. C. Venugopal said that Congress is united in Karnataka and there is no dispute of any kind. Party President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi were also present in this meeting.
In fact, on November 20, when the Congress government completed two and a half years in Karnataka, speculations about changing the Chief Minister in the state increased. The speculations were fueled by talks of a ‘power-sharing’ agreement which is said to be in place if the party comes to power in 2023.
