The air of Faridabad and Gurugram is poisonous again today. AQI crossed 300 in many areas, reaching 388 in Sector 16A. People face irritation in eyes and difficulty in breathing due to thick layer of smog. As per the advice of doctors, go out only when necessary and use a mask.
Faridabad: Today the air of Faridabad and Gurugram is again becoming heavy on people’s breath. As soon as people came out of their homes early in the morning, the mixed layer of fog and smoke made it clear that the condition of the air was going to be bad even today. In many areas the condition was such that even the road in front was visible in the fog. The pollutants present in the air have increased so much that even people who go for a walk in the morning have to return home.
The air of these places is more poisonous
Today’s AQI in Faridabad fluctuated between poor and very poor categories at different places. The situation was worst in Sector 16A where AQI was recorded at 357 at 6 am and it increased to 388 at 8 am. This level clearly shows that the air has become so poisonous that even a healthy person may have trouble breathing. On the other hand, IQAir showed AQI 178 while AQI.in’s figures ranged from 233 to 287+. It is clear from this that the air continues to remain bad in the entire city and the situation does not seem to be improving yet.
According to the categories of AQI, above 200 is considered bad, above 300 is considered very bad and above 400 is considered severe. Today, many parts of Faridabad continue to operate in this dangerous zone. Due to pollution, school going children, college students and office going people had to cover their faces with masks and scarfs.
Gurugram’s air is also bad
The situation was no less in Gurugram also. Here too the air kept oscillating between bad and very bad throughout the day. In DLF Phase-1, AQI was recorded around 197 to 268 in the evening while it reached 240+ in Vikas Sadan. The average AQI of the entire city was between 260 to 342 in the morning, which shows that Gurugram is also badly affected by pollution.
Pollution became a matter of concern
The increasing pollution in both the cities has become a big concern for people’s health. People who earlier used to feel discomfort only in winters, are now experiencing symptoms like irritation in eyes, sore throat, headache and difficulty in breathing on a daily basis. Doctors are also advising not to go out unnecessarily in such air and use air-purifiers or plants at home.
Overall, today the winds in Faridabad and Gurugram have once again warned that if steps are not taken now, the situation may become more serious in the coming days.
