Nagaur. On hearing the name of tamarind, the tongue automatically gets filled with sweet and sour taste and when it comes to spicy homemade tamarind candy, then the fun is different. In childhood, we all used to eat the desi candies with gusto while returning from school. The same original taste can now be made at home in a very easy way. This candy is not only delicious but is also beneficial for digestion. Housewife Shanta Devi has told the easy recipe of spicy candy made from tamarind. He told that first of all the necessary material has to be taken. In which tamarind 150 to 200 grams, water two cups, jaggery one cup, roasted cumin half teaspoon, red chilli powder half teaspoon, black salt half teaspoon, sugar powder for coating.
After taking the ingredients, first clean the tamarind and boil it in one and a half to two cups of water. When it starts boiling lightly, add one more cup of water, so that the tamarind becomes soft and its thick pulp comes out easily. After boiling for 5 minutes, filter it while still hot. This results in excellent, smooth and fiber free pulp. Now put this pulp in a pan and add one cup of jaggery in it. Cook on medium flame until the jaggery dissolves completely and the mixture starts thickening.

Housewife Shanta Devi told that after the mixture becomes thick, add half teaspoon cumin, red chilli powder and black salt to it. This mixture gives a real spicy, wonderful taste to the candy. Cook it until it becomes slightly dry and thick. Take out the mixture in a plate and let it cool for a few minutes. When slightly cooled, it will not stick to the hands at all. After this, make small round balls and shape them into candy. After the candies are ready, roll them in powdered sugar. This coating prevents the candy from sticking and also adds a slight crunch to the taste.
