Raipur News: The effect of cancellation of a large number of IndiGo flights was clearly visible at Raipur’s Swami Vivekananda Airport on Thursday. The crowd and anger of passengers kept increasing at the airport since morning. Many passengers were waiting for hours for the flight to be rescheduled, while some learned that the flight was canceled without prior notice upon reaching the airport. Due to flight cancellation, not only are passengers suffering financial loss, but mental stress has also increased. Many people are now forced to spend thousands of rupees extra to reach their destination through alternative means.
Adarsh Kumar, a resident of Bengaluru, says that he had come to Bilaspur to attend his friend’s wedding. When he left from Bengaluru, the Indigo flight was delayed by 6 hours. At the time of return, the problem increased and he told that since 6 in the morning his flight was being rescheduled again and again. Then suddenly twenty minutes before the flight, information was received that the flight had been cancelled. After this there is neither space in the train nor any other flight available. Under compulsion, he left for Hyderabad by road by bus. Adarsh says that he has to spend double, Indigo is only citing refund, but this has increased the mental stress.
Similarly, Ayush was also preparing to return to Bengaluru with his friends, but his flight also got cancelled. He told that a message had come two days ago that the flight was cancelled. Earlier there used to be direct flights from Raipur to Bangalore, but now 3-4 Indigo flights are getting canceled continuously and information is being given only 15-20 minutes before the flight. The trust that was placed on Indigo was broken today. He said that due to the sudden cancellation, his family members are also getting worried, especially for senior citizens and medical patient passengers, this situation is very difficult.
Atharva also seemed to agree with the concerns of Adarsh and Ayush. He said that if the country’s biggest airline goes down like this, then there will be big problems in going from one city to another. Air India has also increased the fares by 4-5 times. The fare from Nagpur to Bangalore has reached Rs 25 thousand. At such a time, it is necessary that the government intervenes and helps the passengers reach home safely.
Whereas Mitesh from Indore told that he neither received any message nor call, after reaching the airport he came to know that the flight was cancelled. He did not get a satisfactory answer even on IndiGo’s help desk. Mitesh told that Indigo staff says that if you want to go to court then go. Refund will be given in seven days. Due to such unprofessional behavior my business meeting got canceled and the loss is different.
Dinesh Shekhar of Raipur was also going to go to Chennai with his mother, but due to cancellation of flight he got stuck at the airport. They say there is no pilot, so how will the flight run? People are very worried in matters of emergency.
It is clear from the words of the passengers present at the airport that Indigo’s flight cancellation has had a wide impact in Chhattisgarh also. Many people are stranded, some are traveling by road, and many important works remain incomplete. Passengers have appealed to both the government and the airline to provide prompt assistance and clear information in such situations, so that the problems of the common people can be reduced.
