Haryana Weather Update: Cold has arrived in Haryana before time. The night temperature has reached 4 to 5 degrees in many districts and the chill in the morning and evening has increased. Winter will remain intense due to north-westerly winds. The mercury may fall further around December 8. To protect against frost, farmers have been advised to do light irrigation and fumigation.
Faridabad: This time winter has set foot early in Haryana. The chill is clearly felt in the morning and evening winds and the night temperature is continuously going down. The effect of cold across the state has become more intense than in the last few days. According to meteorologists, the mercury in the state is much lower than normal, due to which people are having to endure severe cold.
In many areas of the state the night temperature has reached around four to five degrees Celsius. Narnaul was the coldest, where the cold was at its peak at night. Districts like Hisar, Bhiwani, Sirsa and Mahendragarh are also in the grip of severe cold. The temperature in Faridabad, Gurugram, Rohtak and Jhajjar also remains below normal. Due to which people are seen fully dressed in warm clothes while leaving their homes in the morning and late evening.
Meteorologists say that strong and dry winds coming from the north-west direction are increasing the cold. The night temperature may go down further in the coming days. Even during the day the sunlight is weakening due to which the day temperature is also below average. At many places the maximum temperature has been recorded below twenty degrees. This is also affecting the daily routine.
According to experts, a new western disturbance is about to become active. Due to which a slight change may be seen in the weather. Although there is no possibility of rain, the temperature will continue to fluctuate. There is a possibility of the cold increasing again around December 8th. The mercury may fall further at night and the fog layer may also become denser in the morning. There is also a possibility of frost in many places, which may affect the crops standing in the fields.
Agricultural experts are advising farmers to do light irrigation in their fields so that there is no damage due to frost. Along with this, smoke in the fields at night also provides protection to the plants. Increasing cold can have a significant impact on vegetables and wheat crops. Therefore, farmers need to be cautious in this season.
There was no rain anywhere in the state during the last 24 hours. The weather has remained completely dry and the speed of the winds has further increased the chill. At present, there is no hope of respite from the cold and there are indications that this weather will continue for the next few days.
