Nizam’s successor Sikandar Jah lived here for some time, after which he shifted to Chowmahalla Palace. This is the reason why this building is known as Purani Haveli.

Nizam Museum and current use
There is also a museum within the mansion which is dedicated to the last Nizam of Hyderabad State and displays various objects from his period. Now a part of this historic palace complex is being used as a school and industrial training institute.
