World Powerlifting Championships In Sri Lanka: Janjgir-Champa district has once again brought glory to the entire country. In the World Powerlifting Championship 2025 held from 27 to 30 November in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, two players of Champa Hulk Fitness Club created history by hoisting the Indian tricolor on the international stage. Let us tell you, two promising players of Hulk Fitness Club, Shanu Rai (Open Category) and Suryabhan Kumar (Junior Category) performed brilliantly in powerlifting in Sri Lankan capital Colombo and won a total of 5 medals. This includes 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. This achievement of both the players has made not only Janjgir-Champa but the entire country proud. Due to hard work, discipline and continuous practice, these players showcased Indian strength and talent on the international stage. When these players hoisted the tricolor in this event held in Sri Lanka, the entire stadium echoed with thunderous applause on India’s achievement.

Shanu Rai, who returned after winning a medal from Sri Lanka, said that it is a very memorable moment to go to a country like Sri Lanka and participate in the championship and bring back a medal for his country. After his victory, he told his coach Kishan Verma and the Hulk Fitness Club team. Along with this he said that we have given our best performance there. Shanu was successful in bringing gold medal for India in open category and Suryabhan in junior category and this is a big thing for us.
