When the police investigated here, a big revelation came to light.
Azamgarh: The thread of Codeine cough syrup is once again seen connecting to Azamgarh. A case related to this matter has also been registered in Azamgarh district. Actually, a complaint was given to Didarganj police on behalf of Drug Inspector Seema Verma, after which the police registered a case against Deependra Singh, son of Ashok Singh, resident of Jethari Norway. A case has been registered against the operator of the pharma company for not being able to provide records of purchase and sale of cough syrup containing codeine.
Misappropriation of more than 3 lakh bottles
On behalf of Azamgarh Drug Inspector Seema Verma, a complaint has been given to Didarganj Police that a medical store named AS Pharma is being run by Deependra Singh, a resident of Jethari Narve of the police station area, in Bangaon, Martinganj of the district. A total of 328,000 bottles of cough syrup containing codeine were purchased from two firms in Azamgarh, one in Basti district and one in Jaunpur. After receiving information about the matter, the shop was inspected on November 28, during which the shop was found closed.
Big revelation in police interrogation
During the inspection, the landlord was interrogated, in which he told that he had left the shop for the last one year. During the investigation he was not found at home, apart from this the phone was not received even when he called. While details of purchases and sales were also sought through WhatsApp number and email, no information was provided.
Apart from this, GST details and account related information also could not be found. In such a situation, there is a possibility of misuse of this cough syrup. While giving information in this matter, Azamgarh Superintendent of Police Rural Chirag Jain said that a case has been registered on the complaint of the Drug Inspector. The police is being interrogated in this matter. Along with this, investigation into the entire matter has also been started.
