BrahMos Missile: This is the most successful example of India-Russia joint production. This is the world’s fastest supersonic cruise missile. It has been made jointly by India’s DRDO and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya. It is named after the Brahmaputra of India and the Moskva River of Russia. It can be fired from all three places: land, air and water. Now India is also exporting it to other countries like Philippines.
AK-203 Assault Rifles: This project has been started to replace the INSAS rifles of the Indian Army. It is a joint venture of Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited. Its factory has been set up in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. Here lakhs of modern AK-203 rifles are being manufactured in India itself. It is becoming the main weapon of the army.

Sukhoi-30 MKI: This is the backbone of the Indian Air Force (IAF). It is a multi-role air superiority fighter jet. It is designed by Sukhoi Corporation of Russia but it is manufactured in India by HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) under license production. MKI means- Modernizirovannyi Kommercheskiy Indiski (Modern Commercial Indian). Many Israeli and French avionics have also been installed in it, which make it better than the original Russian aircraft.
T-90 Bhishma Tank: This is the Main Battle Tank (MBT) of the Indian Army. Initially it was purchased from Russia but later its manufacturing started in India under technology transfer. These tanks are manufactured at Avadi Heavy Vehicles Factory near Chennai.
Talwar Class Frigates: This is a project of stealth guided missile frigates for the Navy. The first few ships were built in Russia. Now under the new agreements, some ships are being built in Russia and some with technology transfer at India’s Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL).
