Chandauli: The process of SIR is going on fast in the district. BLOs are going door-to-door and checking people’s documents and including them in the list, but think, will the people who have fled from their homes and are living here, have their SIR? How important is father’s information and his documents for SIR? The daughter in a love relationship is breaking ties with her family and living with her in-laws, how will her SIR be? Both the husband and wife have left their home after love marriage, how will their SIR be? There are many questions and BLO Saheb has the answer to all.
In fact, when Local 18 talked to the BLO of Mughalsarai over phone regarding this matter, he told that the SIR form is an important form issued by the Election Commission. In this the person fills his complete information. This form is used to add name to the voter list, update address, correct age or correct any mistake. If it is filled correctly, the application is approved quickly, but if there is a mistake, the form is returned, which makes the process lengthy.
Will be included only after verification
How will be the SIR of those who have fled from their homes and villages and are living here? On this question, BLO said that SIR form is an important form issued by the Election Commission. Such people will be able to get SIR only when they present proof of current address, identity card and necessary documents related to their place of origin. BLO or concerned officer will include them in the list only after verification. If the documents are incomplete then they will have to be completed first, only then the SIR process will proceed.
Alternative evidence will have to be presented
There is a question in the minds of many people that how important is the father’s information and his documents for SIR. Regarding this, the BLO said that generally the father’s name, Aadhaar or other identity cards are considered important to confirm the identity and genealogy of the family in SIR. If father’s documents are not available then the applicant will have to submit his identity proof, documents proving family relationship or alternative proof. The SIR process can be completed smoothly only when the correct documents are in place.
SIR will happen only after getting the documents
How will the daughter who breaks the relationship with her maternal home due to love affair and is living in her in-laws house, become her SIR? Regarding this, the BLO told Local 18 that in such a situation, SIR is made on the basis of her current residence and documents related to her husband. If maternal information or documents are not available, then verification is done on the basis of proof of marriage, identity card and current address. Its SIR is prepared only after the correct documents are received.
Entry is based on verification
Regarding how SIR will be prepared for the husband and wife who left their home after love marriage, the BLO said that in such cases, SIR is prepared on the basis of their present place of residence. They have to present their identity card, marriage proof and new address document. If documents of maternal or in-laws house are not available, then their entry is done on the basis of alternative identity proof and local verification. On receiving the required documents, the BLO completes their SIR.
Let us tell you that after door-to-door verification, the draft voter list will be published on 9 December 2025. Citizens can register claims or objections related to their names from 9 December 2025 to 8 January 2026. The final voter list will be published on 7 February 2026.
