Haridwar: The last journey of evergreen actor Dharmendra, who left his mark in the history of Indian cinema, was completed with full devotion and emotion in Haridwar. This great artist who ruled millions of hearts may have said goodbye to the world, but his blessings and memories will always remain alive in the hearts of people. Dharmendra died on 24 November. After this, on December 3, his elder son Sunny Deol, younger son Bobby Deol and other family members immersed his ashes as per rituals in Haridwar.

The immersion of ashes was kept completely confidential
The information about where the ashes of late actor Dharmendra were immersed and how the entire sequence took place was shared by his pilgrimage priest Sandeep Kshotriya. He told that on December 2 itself, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol along with their sons had reached Haridwar by chartered plane. The family did not let anyone know to avoid crowding and maintain confidentiality. Everyone spent the night in the private hotel of Pilibhit House.
Immersion at Har Ki Pauri with chanting of mantras
Dharmendra’s ashes were immersed at Har Ki Pauri at around 10 am on December 3 amid chanting of mantras. Priest Sandeep Kshotriya told that to avoid the crowd, Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol and his maternal uncle’s son reached Har Ki Pauri in a private vehicle. There the ashes were immersed peacefully and with rituals so that the departed soul could attain salvation.
Actually, after immersion, bathing in Ganga is necessary for purification. There could be a crowd at Har Ki Pauri, so the family took bath at the private ghat of Pilibhit House. After taking bath from there everyone returned to their rooms. After this the priests presented him Prasad and Ganga water. After bathing in the Ganga and completing the rituals, everyone left for their homes.
