The depth of India-Russia relations has always been a matter of concern for Pakistan, especially in the defense sector. The main reason for Pakistan’s nervousness before the Modi-Putin meeting is the big deal with India regarding S-400 and military modernization. Pakistan’s biggest concern is related to the timely supply of the next batch of S-400 Triumph air defense missile system. Putin-Modi meeting and fear in Pakistan
Russia has been a historical and reliable arms supplier to India. Despite the Ukraine war, Putin’s bilateral summit with India gives a strong message to the Western countries. Pakistan fears that this visit will further enhance India’s diplomatic power and the regional balance of power will completely tilt in favor of India, thereby isolating Pakistan.
What agreements will there be between India and Russia?
Along with this, India and Russia are taking forward agreements in the energy sector, due to which India will continue to get crude oil at concessional rates. India’s energy security is a big concern for Pakistan, which is facing a serious economic crisis. In such a situation, Pakistani intelligence agencies ISI and Foreign Ministry will keep an eye on this tour every moment.

Is Asim Manir’s bullying over?
As Army Chief, for General Asim Munir, it is most important that how much edge India gets in military strength. They will be worried about any deal that weakens their strategic security. At the same time, this tour is important from political point of view for Shahbaz Sharif. He will see to it that Russia, which once kept distance from Pakistan because of India, does not give any further blow to Pakistan.
In such a situation, the world will keep an eye on this meeting being held on completion of 77 years of friendship and 25 years as a strategic partner. The next 30 hours of the summit are not just a diplomatic fest for Delhi, but a major litmus test for Islamabad’s security and strategic planners, the outcome of which could change the geography and history of the region.
