Deoghar. Now farmers have started cultivating other greens and vegetables along with traditional farming. A good income has also started coming from this. At the same time, many farmers are becoming economically self-reliant by cultivating mushrooms. The specialty of mushroom is that the farmer can earn huge profits in less time at low cost.
Possibility of disease due to change in temperature
Mushroom cultivation can be done throughout the year but the winter months are especially considered to be the most suitable time for mushroom cultivation. Mushroom is a very delicate crop. Even a little carelessness can spoil the hard work. This crop is especially affected in winter, because fluctuations in temperature cause direct damage to the mushroom. As the cold increases, the temperature of the room goes down considerably. In such a situation, there are more chances of spreading many diseases. So let us know from the mushroom expert of Deoghar which diseases can spread due to excess moisture and what are the measures to prevent it?
What do mushroom experts say:
While talking to the correspondent of Local 18, mushroom expert Ranjit Jha, working at the Agricultural Science Center of Deoghar, said that mushroom cultivation is not easy in winter. Cold wind and falling temperatures cause the most damage to this delicate crop. Many times the bags prepared with hard work suddenly start rotting and within no time the entire crop starts getting spoiled. This is the reason why the worry of mushroom growing farmers increases in this season. But if some simple measures are adopted in time, the entire crop can be saved and production can also be increased.
Take these measures to avoid melting
Mushroom expert Ranjit Jha says that although the problem of rotting is less, but due to lack of information among the farmers, they may face the problem of rotting, especially in the winter months. Moisture is a major reason for the problem of melting. If the temperature of the room is not correct then moisture can occur. During cold days, the temperature decreases and along with this, the spraying of water also increases. Due to this, the bag gradually starts softening and melting and it spreads from one bag to another. This can cause huge loss to farmers. Therefore, if possible, sprinkle at least water during cold days. Provide as much fresh air as possible. Also take special care of cleanliness.
When melting starts, do these measures immediately:
Mushroom experts say that if galling has started, then immediately make a solution of sulfur and lime and sprinkle it in the bag, this will bring warmth. Use a blower to keep the room temperature balanced during extremely cold days. This will keep the mushrooms safe.
