Why is Indigo in trouble?
After the strict duty-time rules implemented from November 1, IndiGo is facing an acute shortage of pilots and cabin crew. The new rules have reduced the flying hours of pilots and increased the mandatory rest time. On many occasions, IndiGo flights had to be canceled simply because there was no ‘legally available’ crew to fly. Many aviation sources said that due to the new limits, IndiGo’s entire rotation schedule got disrupted.
