necessary materials
To make this colorful and nutritious poha, you will need the following ingredients.
- 1 cup thick poha.
- 1 medium sized beetroot (grated).
- 1 onion (finely chopped).
- 1-2 green chillies (finely chopped).
- 8-10 curry leaves.
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds.
- 1 tsp urad dal.
- 1 tsp chana dal.
- 1/4 cup peanuts.
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder.
- Half teaspoon lemon juice.
- 2 tbsp grated coconut (for garnish).
- Green coriander (finely chopped).
- 2 tbsp oil.
Salt as per taste.
easy method
It is very easy to make beetroot poha. Follow the steps given below.
- Preparing Poha. Take the poha in a strainer and wash it thoroughly under running water. Keep it aside for 5-7 minutes so that it becomes soft and excess water gets removed.
- To temper. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and when they start crackling. So urad dal. Add gram dal and peanuts and fry until golden.
- Roasting vegetables. Green chilly. Add onion and curry leaves and fry until onion becomes light pink and soft.
- Cooking beetroot. Now add grated beetroot and fry for 3-4 minutes. So that its raw smell goes away and it becomes slightly soft.
- Spices and Poha. Add turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Now add softened poha and mix gently with beetroot so that the color becomes uniform. Cover and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
- Finishing. Turn off the gas. Finally lemon juice. Add grated coconut and finely chopped coriander and mix.
- To serve. Serve hot and colorful beetroot poha with tea or your favorite chutney.
