After Ganga Puja, preparations for infrastructure, road construction and tent city are going on at a fast pace. This time the fair is being organized as ‘Mini Kumbh’, in which 12 to 15 crore devotees are expected to come.
Prayagraj: Magh Mela 2025, the biggest religious and spiritual event of the country and the world, is going to be inaugurated after exactly one month on the sacred sands of Sangam. Prayagraj Fair Authority has intensified the work on war footing for the grand preparations of the fair. After the Ganga puja completed on Monday, the work of leveling, road construction and other basic facilities is going on at a fast pace in the entire Sangam area.
After the water level in Ganga has reduced, leveling is being done on a large scale with the help of tractors and JCB machines. This time Yogi government is organizing Magh Mela in the form of ‘Mini Kumbh’. This is the reason why the scope of the fair has been increased to 800 hectares and 7 sectors. Besides, 7 pontoon bridges are also being prepared to ease the movement of devotees.
Estimated arrival of 12 to 15 crore devotees
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had estimated during his visit to Prayagraj on November 22 that this time 12 to 15 crore devotees could come to see the fair. Keeping this in mind, priority is being given to medical, security and public facilities arrangements. The fair will start on January 3 with the first bath of Paush Purnima.
From this day, lakhs of Kalpavasis will start their spiritual journey by taking the pledge of Kalpavas. The administration is trying to complete all the preparations by the end of December. Authority officials claim that all the work will be completed within the stipulated time. Magh Mela will last for a total of 44 days from January 3 to February 15 (Mahashivratri). During this time, a wonderful confluence of religious enthusiasm, presence of saints and mahatmas and faith of the devotees will be seen on the sands of Sangam.
