Begusarai News: On the occasion of Disabled Day in Begusarai, Local 18 has prepared a report for disabled teachers. This report puts to shame the helplessness of Divyang Guruji and the mean officials of the education department.
See, Divyang Diwas is celebrated all over the world on 3rd December to respect the disabled and raise awareness about their rights. In Bihar also, programs are organized in every district. Even in Begusarai, the education department and social organizations celebrate it on a large scale. Behind the glamor of this day, there is a truth hidden which has forced people to question the arrangements given to the disabled teachers of the district.
Understand the resolution letter of the Finance Department
Actually, according to the resolution letter of the Finance Department dated 15/02/2018, there is a clear provision to give transport allowance of Rs 1200 plus DA per month to all the disabled government servants of the state. This rule is being followed in almost every district of Bihar – except Begusarai district. The disabled teachers here are still deprived of this benefit. Many disabled teachers have provided copies of their letters, applications and resolution letters, in which repeated demands have been made to give transport allowance to the Establishment Branch, Education Department and District Administration.
Financial help could be up to Rs 3 thousand
Similarly, Divyang Teachers Association leader Mohan Kumar told Local 18 that this is an order issued by the Finance Department. We should get 1200+DA i.e. around two to three thousand rupees per month. This is a big financial help for poor disabled teachers. But it is not being implemented in Begusarai. The district administration organizes programs on Disabled Day, but is actually suppressing our rights.
Waiting for orders or carelessness
When Local 18 spoke to Begusarai Establishment Branch DPO Amrit Kumar over phone on this matter, he said, “We are waiting for orders from senior officials.” Then we will try to see further. Let us tell you that orders are issued from the state and benefits are also being received in other districts. Now from this statement it has become more clear that the reason for the delay could be the negligence or slow processes at the district level. Disabled teachers are raising the question that when the instructions of the Finance Department are clear, other districts are getting benefits, then why is only Begusarai lagging behind? Has the administration, which talks about rights from the platforms of Divyang Diwas, failed to give the rights of its own government teachers?
