Jamshedpur News: An important step has been taken to give a new direction to health services in Jamshedpur’s Sadar Hospital Khasmahal. Dr. Irfan Ansari, Minister of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Department, inaugurated a 100-bed modern fabricated hospital and Sickle Cell Anemia Lab on Wednesday.

This facility has brought great relief especially to the patients of Kolhan area. Because till now the facility of such investigation was not available at the government level.
Minister Dr. Ansari said that this hospital is not just a new building but a resolution to strengthen health services. The aim of the government is to make the district hospitals so efficient that patients do not need referral. Providing quality, safe and timely health care is the priority of the state government. The hospital has been completely developed in accordance with modern health standards. In which trained doctors, nurses and health workers will be deployed so that the patients do not face any kind of inconvenience.
More than 13.90 lakh ABHA cards made
The absence of a government lab for sickle cell anemia testing was being felt in Kolhan area for a long time. With the introduction of the new lab, patients will now get the facility of both testing and treatment in the district itself. The Minister said that continuous work is going on in the direction of developing Khasmahal Sadar Hospital as a medical college. The expansion of digital health services is notable among the major achievements of the hospital. Under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, more than 13.90 lakh ABHA cards have been made in the district so far. Also, work is being done rapidly towards scan-and-share, digital slip and paperless service through e-hospital service. So far, 9.54 lakh Ayushman cards have been made in the district, due to which financially weak patients are getting great help in treatment.
193 patients treated in ICU
Various units of Sadar Hospital are also doing remarkable work. In this financial year, 193 patients have been treated in ICU, 835 dialysis have been done in dialysis unit and 344 newborns have been treated in SNCU. Under the Sickle Cell Campaign, 81,650 people have been screened and 26 patients have been treated. The opening of this new hospital and lab is being considered as a historic step to give a new impetus to the health services of East Singhbhum district.
