Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij said that during the recent online auction in the state for number HR 88B 8888, the highest bid by an individual was Rs 1 crore 17 lakh. But after bidding, the person allowed his security deposit to be confiscated, hence an investigation will be conducted into the assets and income of that person in this regard.
Chandigarh: The troubles of the person who backed out after bidding for Haryana’s VVIP number are about to increase. Because Haryana Government Transport Minister Anil Vij has given instructions to investigate his property. He has also said that a letter will also be written to the Income Tax Department. He said that bidding in auction is not a hobby but a responsibility.
Minister Vij will also write a letter to the Income Tax Department

But after placing the bid, that person allowed his security deposit to be confiscated, hence in this regard the property and income of that person will be investigated and it will be seen whether that person actually has the financial capacity to bid for Rs 1 crore 17 lakh or not.
‘Bidding is not a hobby but a responsibility’
Talking to media persons today, Minister Anil Vij said that fancy and VVIP vehicle numbers in the state are allotted through auction system and many people try to buy these numbers by placing huge bids. It is not only a matter of prestige, but also contributes significantly to the revenue growth of the government. He told that recently during the online auction for number HR 88 B 8888, a person had made the highest bid of Rs 1 crore 17 lakh. But after bidding, the person allowed his security deposit to be confiscated, which makes it clear that bidding is becoming just a hobby and not a responsibility.
The person’s property will be investigated
The Transport Minister said, “I have given strict instructions to the transport officials that the property and income of the person who made this bid should be thoroughly investigated. It should be seen whether that person actually has the financial capacity to make a bid of Rs 1 crore 17 lakh or not.” He further said that in this regard a letter is also being sent to the Income Tax Department asking for a detailed investigation, so that in future no person can bid with wrong information or without financial capability.
First he bid and then he gave the shot.
It is noteworthy that recently an online auction was held for number ‘HR88B8888’ of Badhra sub-division of Charkhi Dadri. This number was auctioned for Rs 1 crore 17 lakh and a person from Hisar had placed this bid and had deposited Rs 11,000 as security amount, but he did not deposit the money on the last day of the bid.
