Sumit Bhardwaj/Panipat: Shocking revelations have come to light during the police interrogation of the psycho killer accused woman arrested in Panipat district of Haryana. During interrogation, the accused woman told the police that she had first murdered her own 3-year-old son Shubham and her sister-in-law’s 9-year-old daughter Ishika by drowning them in a water tank built at home in January 2019 in Bhavad village of Sonipat. Due to the fear that his family might suspect him, he had killed Ishika and her son Shubham. Then the sister-in-law had come to her maternal home from Gangana village along with her daughter Ishika.

In August 2025, at her maternal home in Siwah village, she murdered her cousin’s 6-year-old daughter Jiya by drowning her in a water tank built at home. Then the family members considered the children’s death due to drowning in water to be a coincidence and performed the last rites. During interrogation, the accused woman told the police that she used to get irritated after seeing beautiful girls. He committed the above crimes one after the other. SP Bhupendra Singh IPS said that during interrogation, the accused woman told the police that she had come to her maternal home in Siwah village for the last few days.
How the woman murdered Vidhi
There was a wedding of Aman and daughter of husband Naveen’s maternal uncle Satpal in village Naultha. She went to the wedding on 30 November. Aman’s marriage procession took place in the afternoon of 1st December. All the guests were out of the house. Meanwhile, he saw the girl Vidhi climbing the stairs of the house. She followed him to the terrace and after talking to Vidhi, got the plastic tub filled with water brought inside from outside the store room. After this, she murdered Vidhi by drowning her neck in the tub and came down by locking the door from outside.
Girl’s murder revealed in 36 hours
After interrogation, the police on Wednesday presented the psycho killer woman accused Poonam in the Honorable Court, from where she was sent to judicial custody jail. In just 36 hours, the police busted the blind murder case of 6-year-old girl Vidhi that took place in Naultha village on Monday, December 1 and arrested the woman accused of being a psycho killer. The woman accused of being a psycho killer has been identified as Poonam, wife of Naveen, resident of Bhavad village of Sonipat. Accused Poonam seems to be Vidhi’s aunt by relation. Accused Poonam’s husband Naveen and deceased Vidhi’s father Sandeep are cousins.
The girl’s head was in the tub and her feet were outside.
Superintendent of Police Bhupendra Singh IPS told during a press conference on Wednesday in the auditorium of the Police Department located at the District Secretariat that on December 1 evening, information was received in the Police Control Room that a 6-year-old girl had died due to drowning in a water tub in the house in Naultha village. As soon as the information was received, the police team immediately reached the spot. During investigation at the house, the police found out that the family members had found the girl’s body lying face down in a plastic tub filled with water inside the store room on the first floor of the house. The head was submerged, the legs were outside.
Police suspected murder of girl
The police found the case suspicious and got the post-mortem of the girl’s body done by the board of doctors at the Civil Hospital, handed over the body to the family members and started investigation. The spot was also inspected by the forensic team. SP Bhupendra Singh IPS said that on the complaint of the girl’s grandfather, Pal Singh, resident of village Bhavad Hall, West Ram Nagar, Sonipat, legal action was taken against unknown person in police station Israna under section 103 (1) of BNS.
Vidhi went missing after the wedding procession
In the complaint given to the police, Pal Singh had told that in village Nautha, his wife Ompati’s son was married to his brother Satpal. Ompati had come to Naultha on 24th November itself. Son Sandeep, daughter-in-law Rakhi, granddaughter Vidhi and grandson Divya (10 months) had reached the wedding on 30 November. He also reached the wedding at around 1 pm on 1 November. The whole family was busy in the wedding rituals. At around 1:30 pm, he went to the wedding procession sitting in the groom Aman’s car and his son Sandeep in another car.
After searching, the method was found in the tub.
After some time, information was received through phone that granddaughter Vidhi was missing. Wife Ompati and daughter-in-law Rakhi searched around the house and in the streets. After some time, wife Ompati Satpal went to the first floor of the house. The store room built there was found locked from outside. When opened, Vidhi was found lying face down in a plastic tub filled with water. The head was submerged and the legs were outside. Son Sandeep took Vidhi to Israna Medical College and the doctor declared her dead.
The woman is the aunt of the deceased girl
SP Bhupendra Singh IPS said that considering the seriousness of the case, he had handed over the investigation of the case to CIA One in-charge Inspector Phool Kumar and his team under the leadership of Crime Against Women DSP Naveen Sandhu. While investigating various angles, the police team on Wednesday exposed the incident and arrested the woman accused of being a psycho killer. During interrogation, accused Poonam confessed to killing the girl Vidhi by drowning her in water. During interrogation, the accused woman told that she was married to Naveen, a resident of Bhavad village of Sonipat, in the year 2019. Husband Naveen and father of deceased girl Vidhi Sandeep are cousins.
