Under the doubling of Ara railway section in Sasaram, Sasaram North Cabin station is being built near Karmdihari village, which will make the rail services of Rohtas district fast and convenient.
SasaramThe long standing demand towards doubling of Ara railway section is now becoming a reality, Starting the first phase of this entire project, Railways has started the work of building a new subsidiary station named Sasaram North Cabin near Karmdihari village, This station will prove to be an important link for double line operation in future,
Work on two big rail flyovers, one RFO and one rail over rail project is going on in this section at a cost of about Rs 7 billion. Of these, the flyover connecting platform numbers 1 and 2 of Sasaram station from Karmdihari village has now almost reached the final stage. Similarly, the second ROR project to be built between Karmdihri to Karwandiya station is also going to start soon.
Rail services will be fast and convenient
This project is expected to fulfill the years old demand of the entire Rohtas district. Due to the 97 km long Ara-Sasaram railway line, which was started about a decade ago, being single track, the traffic pressure repeatedly increased and it became difficult to increase the number of trains. After this doubling, rail services on this entire section will become much faster and convenient.
Railways has also started the final location survey for this project. According to Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway Hajipur Zone, approval of Rs 232.8 lakh has been received for the survey. After completion of the survey, DPR of the project will be prepared and sent to the Railway Board.
ROR project will come on ground
After this doubling, this line will also be connected to the freight corridor line passing near Sasaram. With this, goods trains will get a big benefit of uninterrupted movement and both the speed and capacity of goods transportation between East India and North India will increase. Railways believes that with the addition of connectivity with DFC, there will be less congestion on this route and passenger trains will also be able to get more slots.
The work of flyover from Karmdihari to Sasaram Junction has already reached the final stage. Whereas the ROR project from Sasaram North Cabin to Karwandiya will come on the ground soon. After the completion of both the projects, there will be a big change in the railway facilities of Sasaram and the entire Rohtas district. With this, passengers will get faster and more trains while traders and industries will also get great relief in transportation of goods.
