Five months after the murder of an 18-year-old Delhi University student, a diary found in her house has revealed a shocking new truth. The victim’s mother says that months after her daughter’s death, when she was cleaning her room, she found a diary among the books. In the letter written in this diary, the student had recorded a secret related to her childhood, which she kept hidden throughout her life… The family was also stunned after reading this.
The student had written in her diary that a relative from her father’s side sexually abused her for many years since childhood. After reading this diary, the victim’s mother lodged a complaint at Jahangirpuri police station, after which the police registered a case against the accused relative under several serious sections including POCSO and rape.
What did the girl write in the diary?
According to the complaint lodged with the FI, the girl had written that when she was just six years old, the ‘brother’ took her aside while she was playing and started misbehaving with her and this continued till she was 12 years old.
According to the girl, ‘He used to threaten me that if I told anyone, he would kill me. I was young and could not understand what was happening to me, but could not say anything because of fear. In this diary, the student described herself as ‘in depression’ and wrote, ‘It is very difficult to live with this. I can’t bear it anymore.
The student’s mother told that she recognized her daughter’s handwriting and then lodged a complaint with the police. On November 25, Delhi Police registered a case against the accused relative under IPC sections 376 (rape), 354A (molestation), 506 (threats) and sections 6 and 10 of the POCSO Act. According to DCP (North-West) Vishram Singh, several teams have been formed to nab the accused.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, this girl was allegedly murdered on June 1. She went to college in the morning, but did not return home. While the family was searching for her, a call came from the father of the accused student, claiming that the girl had attacked his son. Later investigation revealed that the allegations were false. During interrogation, the accused admitted that he strangled the student, attacked her with a knife and then set her on fire to destroy her identity.
His body was then recovered from Sanjay Forest. The family had already told the police that the accused had been harassing the student for the last one year. The victim’s sister had told, ‘My sister had forbidden him, that is why he used to stalk her continuously. He once reached his language institute and created a ruckus. In May he came to our house and even threw my mother’s phone.
Now, this diary, found months after the murder, has revealed another layer of the victim’s pain… a pain that she endured alone for years. The police is busy investigating this new case, while the family is hoping for justice for their daughter.
