At what speed is massage beneficial?
Coconut oil cools the scalp and reduces dryness. Sesame oil is most effective in pacifying vata and prevents hair fall. Amla-Bhringraj oil is beneficial for faster hair growth and strengthening the roots. Oil containing neem and bitter gourd is beneficial in fungal infections or dandruff. If you want, you can also use these oils by mixing Amla powder, fenugreek seeds, garlic or Bhringraj. These give much better results.
What is the correct way of massage?
According to experts, make the oil slightly lukewarm. Then massage the scalp in circular motion with the tips of your fingers for about 5 to 10 minutes. Do not apply too much pressure. Do light tapping during massage, so that blood flow increases. Keep in mind that the oil spreads evenly throughout the head. After massage, leave the oil overnight and wash hair with mild shampoo the next morning. For normal hair, oiling 2 to 3 times a week is enough.
