New Delhi. Just minutes before its launch, Maruti’s first electric SUV, the e Vitara has scored an impressive 5 stars in the India NCAP crash test. The special thing is that with this achievement, e Vitara has now joined the ranks of its rivals Tata Curve EV and Mahindra BE6, which have achieved full 5 stars in both adult and child safety categories. Maruti E Vitara BNCAP: Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) Score: 31.49/32.00
Talking about adult passenger safety score, E Vitara has scored 31.49 points out of maximum 32, which clearly gives it 5 stars. Both adult dummies received good to adequate protection in the chest, tibia and knees, while the legs also received a ‘Good’ rating. In the frontal offset deformable test, it got 15.49 out of 16 points, while in the side movable deformable barrier test it got a full 16 out of 16 points. Besides, it also passed the side pole impact test, thereby ensuring the safety of the people sitting inside.
