SitamarhiSamastipur Division has taken an important step to provide safe and convenient travel to the passengers, Now modern medical clinics will be opened at 14 major railway stations of the division including Sitamarhi, At crowded stations like Samastipur, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Raxaul, Bettiah, Bagaha and Madhubani, first aid, general health checkup and emergency medical facilities will be available to the passengers in the station premises itself, This arrangement is of great relief to those passengers who used to face difficulty in getting immediate treatment in case of sudden illness or injury due to the crowded platform,
Be it late night travel or long distance fatigue, now passengers will not need to run to the hospital outside the station. Railway administration said that this clinic will be a completely different and new arrangement from railway hospitals, where MBBS doctors and trained paramedical staff will be present daily. Doctors will run these centers like private clinics and will also give fixed revenue to the Railways in return. With this, passengers will get reliable treatment and doctors will also be able to get patients on a safe and regular platform.
14 stations selected
The 14 stations selected under this initiative include Samastipur, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Raxaul, Bettiah, Bagaha, Bapudham Motihari, Narkatiaganj, Dauram Madhepura, Supaul and Salona. In view of the ever increasing crowd of passengers at these stations, special needs of elderly passengers and sudden accidents, Railways has considered this as a necessary step from the social point of view. Especially for far-flung rural travelers, this facility will be no less than a life-saving step.
Security levels will increase
According to railway officials, these clinics will be equipped with modern equipment, so that small and big medical needs can be met within the station premises itself. Its direct benefit will be that passengers will not only get timely treatment, but their security level at the station will also increase. This new facility at these major stations of North Bihar is a symbol of the changing standards of Railways and new thinking in the interest of passengers. This step proves that now rail travel is moving in a more sensitive, safe and modern direction.
