Center gave big relief! Work on Sitamarhi-Nirmali rail project will start soon

SitamarhiMany projects which will give a new dimension to the railway infrastructure of Bihar are now going to gain momentum, State Planning and Development Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav recently met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and raised the issue of progress of pending railway schemes of Bihar, Positive results of this meeting have emerged, The Railway Minister not only assured to provide all possible assistance to Bihar, but also assured to start work on many important projects soon, This especially includes Sitamarhi-Jaynagar-Nirmali via Sursand Rail Project and Lalitgram-Veerpur Rail Line, on which the eyes of the local people have been fixed for years,

At present, work on 52 railway projects is going on in various stages in Bihar at a cost of about Rs 86 thousand crores, whose total length is 4663 kilometers. Of these, 31 new railway lines (2691 km), 20 doubling and multi-tracking schemes (1904 km) and one gauge conversion project (69 km) have been approved. Till now, more than Rs 50 thousand crore has been spent on these projects in the state. Along with this, 93 stations of the state have been selected for Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, on whose modernization Rs 3164 crore is being spent. The process of equipping these stations with modern facilities is going on at a fast pace.

An amount of Rs 10 thousand crore allocated
Paying special attention to the Sitamarhi-Jaynagar-Nirmali project, Minister Yadav said that a 189 km long railway line is to be constructed under the Nirmali project. This project was approved in 2007, but till date the work has not started. Recently, the Union Cabinet has again approved this project and allocated an amount of Rs 10 thousand crore to it in the current financial year. Not only this, the Minister also demanded immediate action from the Railway Ministry on the Kilta-Aurangchak and Lalit Gram-Veerpur rail project, on which the Railway Minister has shown a positive attitude.

Railway projects now likely to gain momentum
The Central Government has made it clear that it is fully committed to the railway projects of Bihar. The Railway Minister said that Bihar, which had received only Rs 1,132 crore in 2009-10, has now been sanctioned an amount of more than Rs 10,000 crore this year, an increase of more than ten times. It is clear from this that the rail projects lying in limbo in Bihar now have every possibility of gaining momentum. Minister Yadav expressed confidence that progress will soon be seen on the ground on all the pending works including Sitamarhi-Nirmali via Sursand Rail Project. This will not only provide better rail connectivity to the people of North Bihar, but will also give a new direction to the economic and social development of the region.
