Children of Paharpur village studying in Maupara Primary School located in Devkali block once used to work as garbage collectors. But, today the initiative of a constable has secured their future.
Ghazipur. An exemplary story has come to light from Ghazipur in UP. Many times we see around us that needy children are picking garbage or collecting junk. But, we do not pay attention to why these children have to do this. Why are these children not going to school? However, when a person came to know that children were wasting time by not going to school, he tried to find out the reason behind it. Then such an awareness campaign was launched that today these same children are going to school.
Yes, we are talking about the children of Paharpur village studying in Maupara Primary School located in Devkali block. Many children did not come to school. The conditions in the village were such that these children used to collect garbage every day and the income from it was used to meet the expenses of the family. When police constable Anil Kumar, posted on jail duty, came to know about this from the principal, he was shocked. He decided to go to the village himself and talk to the children and families.
It came to light that the conditions of many families are not good and many are not able to send their children to school due to drug addiction. The teachers had enrolled these children, but never tried to bring them to school. Constable Anil shared his story of struggle with the parents of the children. Told them how they have reached this position today after studying in poverty. His words had an impact on the family. He agreed to send the children to school.
Anil gave notebooks, pencils and chocolates to 12 children. Took them to school, made them sit in the classroom and also made them friends with other students. The result was that about a dozen children have started reaching school with bags instead of collecting garbage for a week continuously. He says that if even a small effort can change the life of a child, then there is no greater happiness than this.
