Haryana Dalit Groom Marriage: Due to tension between two communities in Mahendragarh, Haryana, police had to provide security at a wedding ceremony. During this time, policemen were seen among the wedding processions. Two Dalit youths were to get married and due to conflict with people of Rajput community, police protection was sought.
Mahendragarh. The procession of Dalit community took place amidst tight police security in Talwana village of Mahendragarh, Haryana. The groom’s horse was mounted and evacuated with special precautions in the village. Due to a dispute between the two parties, the police had to provide security at the wedding.
According to the information, it was the wedding of Ravi and Ajay, nephew of Surendra, resident of Talwana and son of Rajendra, whose marriage procession was to go from village Talwana to Basni, district Khairthal (Rajasthan). There was apprehension of a dispute between the two parties regarding the groom sitting on the mare. The family members had already informed the police administration about this. Considering the seriousness of the matter, additional police force from Mahendragarh including DSP Dinesh Kumar, SHO Sadar police station Kanina was deployed in the village. Besides, the team of Dial 112 was also present on the spot.
According to family members, some people from the Golden community had raised objections, but due to the presence of police, the atmosphere remained calm and the program was conducted without any hindrance. Villagers say that such a case has already come to light in the village, due to which strict security arrangements were made this time. At around 3.30 pm, the grooms Ravi and Ajay were taken out on a mare under police protection.
During this, family members and relatives danced vigorously in front of the DJ. After the procession left, the administration heaved a sigh of relief. The family thanked the police administration for ensuring a peaceful event.
A large number of police personnel were also seen amid the procession.
Kanina Sadar police station in-charge Sajjan Kumar said that on the information of family members, adequate police force was deployed keeping security in mind. The evacuation took place peacefully and there was no dispute of any kind.”
