Balrampur Road Accident: Three passengers died and 23 were injured in a fire that broke out when a bus and truck collided in Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh. The accident happened at 2:15 pm. Police have considered speeding and negligence as the reason. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. The truck driver is absconding.
In the accident, three passengers traveling in the bus died on the spot, while 23 other passengers were seriously injured. There were a total of 25 passengers in the bus. As soon as the information was received, the police and fire brigade team reached the spot and after a lot of effort, brought the fire in the bus and truck under control. The injured were immediately taken to Joint District Hospital Balrampur, where after first aid, five seriously injured passengers were referred to Bahraich Medical College for better treatment. The remaining injured are undergoing treatment in Balrampur District Hospital.

According to the police, the accident happened at around 2:15 in the night. In the initial investigation, speeding and carelessness are being considered as the main reasons for the accident. The truck driver is said to be absconding from the spot and is being searched. After the incident, traffic remained disrupted for some time on Phulwaria bypass. Police have taken possession of both the vehicles and started further action. The dead have not been identified yet, while most of the injured were passengers going from Nepal border area towards Delhi. The continuously increasing road accidents in the district have once again raised questions on the adherence to traffic rules and security arrangements on national highways. The Superintendent of Police has ordered a magistrate level investigation into the accident.
