Pilibhit: Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, the Railways has expanded the Gorakhpur-Pilibhit Express. This train will now run from Gorakhpur to Izzatnagar railway station instead of Pilibhit. It is noteworthy that Izzatnagar is an important station of Bareilly from where passengers board other long distance trains. Let us tell you that in the last years, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Tanakpur and Mailani railway sections from Pilibhit Junction Railway Station have been converted from meter gauge to broad gauge. The gauge conversion work on other railway sections was completed soon, but the operation on Mailani railway section was started quite late.
On the demand of the local people, the Railway Board had decided to extend the Gorakhpur-Mailani Express first to Puranpur and then to Pilibhit Junction. But due to the absence of any direct train between Puranpur and Bareilly, passengers faced a lot of trouble. At the same time, passengers coming from Mailani and other places also had to resort to road to reach Bareilly. In view of this, local people were demanding extension of this train till Bareilly.
MP Jitin Prasad’s efforts bore fruit
On which this demand was conveyed to the Railway Minister by local MP and Union Minister of State Jitin Prasad. Taking cognizance of this, Railways had decided to run this train to Izzatnagar. Today this train was flagged off between Puranpur to Izzat Nagar. Meanwhile, General Manager of North Eastern Railway, Anil Borikar, who reached Pilibhit, said that this expansion has been done keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers. All the proposals received to increase the facilities of the people of the area are also being considered.
This is the new time table
The timing of operation on the extended route of Gorakhpur-Izzatnagar Express (15009/15010) has been released. 15009 Gorakhpur- Izzatnagar Express will depart from Gorakhpur at 22:15 hrs on the second day via the same stations – Barabanki 05:08, Gomtinagar 05:47, Badshahnagar 05:58, Daliganj 06:45, Mohibullapur 06:55, Sidhauli 07:27, Sitapur Jn. 08:01, Hargaon 08:24, Lakhimpur 08:50, Gola 09:17, Mailani 10:00, Puranpur 10:31, Pilibhit 11:45, Bhojipura 12:17 and will reach Izzatnagar at 12:45. In return, 15010 Izzatnagar-Gorakhpur Express will depart from Izzatnagar at 15:10 and reach Bhojipura at 15:27, Pilibhit at 16:10, Puranpur at 17:10, Mailani at 18:05, Gola at 18:30, Lakhimpur at 19:03, Hargaon at 19:22, Sitapur Jn., Sidhauli. 20:24, via Mohibullapur 20:57, Daliganj 19:52, Badshahnagar 23:01, Gomtinagar 23:14, Barabanki 23:53 and will reach Gorakhpur at 07:00 on the second day.
