Panipat News: A woman almost lost her life at the railway station in Panipat, Haryana. The woman fell while boarding the train and was then dragged. However, the constable showed promptness and saved the woman from falling on the railway line. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.
PanipatA major accident was averted at Haryana’s Panipat railway station, when a GRP jawan saved a woman passenger, who slipped while trying to board a moving train, with his quick wit and bravery,
According to the information, the incident took place on Sunday afternoon at around 3:30 pm. As soon as train number 64454 going from Karnal to Delhi reached platform number 1, passengers started boarding and deboarding. During this time, a female passenger aged about 45-50 years, who was traveling alone, was about to board the train after keeping her luggage in it when the train started. As the speed of the train increased, the woman’s foot slipped and she started getting stuck dangerously between the coach and the platform.
At that very moment, GRP constable Jag Roop Singh (224), on duty, saw the woman. Without wasting a moment, without any fear or hesitation, he moved forward and held the woman tightly and pulled her out with all her might to safety. This bravery shown in time averted a potentially serious accident.
On interrogating the woman, she told that she was completely safe and had no injuries. After the incident, the train was stopped and the woman was safely seated in the same train and sent to her destination.
CCTV of the incident also surfaced
A CCTV footage of this entire accident has also surfaced. In this, Jag Roop Singh was present on the platform with one of his friends. During this time, a woman was seen being dragged while the train was moving. He kept walking with the woman for about 10 meters and then pulled her towards the platform and saved her from coming under the train.
The GRP officer said that this incident happened on November 29 and the woman had kept the bag in the train but could not board it herself. He said that a letter has been written to the officials to honor Jagroop and he will be given respect. He appealed to the passengers to be careful while boarding the train.
