Chitrakoot News: Chitrakoot of UP has been identified as a backward and inaccessible area for a long time. Amidst the hilly terrain, bad roads and the fear of dacoits, the villagers here often remained away from basic facilities. But there is a small village in the district which kept the torch of education burning even at a time when the villagers were confined to their homes even before it got dark.
The specialty of the school is that it continued running even when the fear of dacoits was at its peak in Chitrakoot and people were afraid to go to the fields and forests. But the enthusiasm of the children studying in this school was so much that no danger could stop them.
The school was started in 1975
CA Mukund, a senior teacher of the school, told Local 18 that when the school was started in 1975, there was no system of education in many nearby villages. Our aim was that no matter how backward the area is, no child should be deprived of education. Today children from Gidurha, Katra, Kubri, Ranipur and other villages come to study in our school.
School educated people entered government service
He said that this small school has prepared hundreds of such children in the last five decades who are today playing important roles in government departments, educational institutions, panchayats, ministries, professors and services like nursing. Today about 99% people in the village are educated, which is the biggest contribution of this school. Today this school has developed further – all the necessary facilities are available for children’s studies, sports and other activities, due to which children are progressing in sports along with studies.
