With the onset of winter, the body needs something that not only provides warmth but also increases immunity. Amla Murabba is easy to make at home and keeps you healthy throughout the season. Its taste is slightly sour and sweet, which tastes delicious.
In winter, buy fresh Amla from the market and wash it thoroughly. Then cut each gooseberry into four equal parts. Due to this, they become soft quickly while boiling and the marmalade is also prepared well.
Heat about one liter water in a big vessel and add chopped gooseberries. Gooseberries are a little hard in winter, so after boiling for 10-15 minutes they become soft and ready for murabba.

After boiling, drain the water and let the gooseberry cool for a while. It cools down quickly in cold weather. This stage of boiling is necessary because it removes the bitterness of the gooseberry and the taste becomes slightly sour-sweet.
If you like sweets then you can add honey or some jaggery. But, if you want to make completely unsweetened marmalade then skip this step. Adding light jaggery in winter gives taste as well as warmth to the murabba.
Put boiled gooseberries in the pan and if desired, add cardamom powder and some cloves on top. It tastes good during winters. Now cook it for 15–20 minutes on medium flame, until it becomes slightly thick.
After the marmalade is cooked, let it cool slightly and store it in a glass bottle. It does not deteriorate for a long time in cold weather. Eating one or two pieces every morning gives strength to the body and also provides relief to the throat.
