New Delhi. The century season has started in North India. In view of the dense fog this season, Northern Railway has canceled many trains from December 1, 2025 to March 1, 2026. The trains which have been canceled include many major trains like Garib Rath Express, Amritsar-Chandigarh Express, Yoganagari Jammu Tawi Express, Kalka-Vaishno Devi Express, on which thousands of passengers depend every day. This step of Railways will have the biggest impact on passengers traveling between Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jammu and Delhi.
Devotees traveling to pilgrimage sites like Vaishno Devi, Amritsar Golden Temple and Haridwar will also have to face inconvenience as many direct trains have been stopped. Ambala Railway Division officials have confirmed that advance booking of all the affected trains was stopped weeks ago. Notice of suspension has been issued to all station masters and has also been published in the reservation system.
Appeal to get information from helpline and app
Railway officials say that this decision has been taken under the “Annual Winter Preparedness Plan”. Reduced visibility in fog increases the risk of accidents and long delays.
