Dhanbad’s Famous Bihari Dhaba: Bablu Gupta has a restaurant by the name of Bihari Dhaba in the old market of Dhanbad. Very tasty mutton-chicken is served here at low prices, with which unlimited supply of rice is available.
Dhanbad. A small restaurant named ‘Bihari Dhaba’, which started just in front of the railway coach located in Purana Bazar of Dhanbad, has today become a favorite place of common people. Such a wonderful feast of mutton and chicken is served here that everyone from the working class to employees and businessmen definitely comes here to eat a full meal.
10 years of experience
This dhaba was started by Bablu Gupta, who is originally from Katihar district of Bihar. He has gained good experience in cooking by living in Delhi and Noida for the last 10 years. He told that it was good to work in big cities. But I always had in my mind to work among my people and provide them tasty and nutritious food. With this thinking, he returned to Dhanbad and established Bihari Dhaba in Purana Bazar.
Unlimited rice is available here
The biggest specialty here is unlimited rice with mutton and chicken. You heard it right! After ordering the food plate, rice is replenished as often as required without any extra money. This facility is no less than a boon especially for the working class, who want to eat a full meal after working hard all day.
10 kg mutton is made daily
Bablu Gupta tells that about 10 kg mutton and 6 kg chicken is sold every day in the dhaba. He says that in cooking 10 kg mutton, about 5-6 kg onions, about 500 grams garlic and special ‘secret masala’ are used, which gives a different aroma and taste. It takes about 40-50 minutes to cook mutton. Similarly, 2 kg onion and spices are used to cook 5 kg chicken. The weight of each piece is kept at around 100 grams so that customers get the right quantity.
Chicken-Mutton is available at this price
Here two piece mutton plate is available for Rs 170 and chicken plate for Rs 90. Due to seating capacity of 40 to 50 people, the dhaba remains completely full during lunch time. Bablu says that his aim is not just to work but to satisfy both the hunger and taste of the people. This is the reason why this Dhaba has now created its own identity not only in the old market but also in the surrounding areas. For the people of Dhanbad, this dhaba is not just a place to eat food, but an experience of the real taste of Bihar. That too without being heavy on the pocket.
