People have started purchasing quilts and mattresses along with less clothes. Due to the changing weather, happiness is visible on the face of the businessman. The businessman expects good business this winter.
People have started taking out the quilts and mattresses kept in their homes. Along with this, the number of customers in quilt and mattress shops has also increased. People are reaching out to artisans to get old mattresses repaired and new quilts made. The demand for new furs, covers, cotton and quilts and mattresses has increased in shops.
The artisans are now preparing quilts with their experience and hard work. However, this work is only for 5-6 months, then they go to other states for work. Artisans say that with the advent of new technology and different types of blankets, the business no longer runs like before. People use less quilts and mattresses and prefer modern blankets.

About 5-6 kg of cotton is required to fill a quilt. Artisans fill it at the rate of Rs 50-60 per kg. 5-6 kg cotton is used for a single bed quilt and 8 kg cotton is used for a double bed quilt. Cotton is prepared by cutting old clothes and putting them in the machine. If the customer gets new cotton filled, then the expense ranges from Rs 70 to Rs 150 per kg. If an old quilt is to be repaired, it costs Rs 500-600, whereas buying a new quilt costs Rs 1200 to Rs 2000. In this way the artisans are able to earn their livelihood and earn well.

Quilt artisan Haider Ali said that mild cold starts from the month of October and the quilt business also starts at this time. This business continues till March-April. After working hard for 5-6 months, the artisans go to work outside the states. Cotton is made from old torn clothes on both new quilt and old quilt. In this process, artisans prepare 5-6 quilts daily and also earn good income.
