Tamar ITI College Student: Kunal Nayak and Prakash Mahato of Tamar ITI have set a new example in rural cleanliness and labor saving by making cow dung collector machine and cow dung upla making machine for just ₹ 500.
Jamshedpur: It is truly said that innovation is born not only in the laboratories of big cities but also in the soil of villages. Kunal Nayak and Prakash Mahato, two talented students of Tamar ITI College, Jharkhand, have proved this. Where big companies could not understand rural problems.
At the same time, these two youth found a solution to a common and serious problem of their village. He observed that while picking up dung in cow sheds, women and farmers have to face problems like bacteria on their hands, skin infection and bad smell. This was not only an inconvenience but also a problem affecting health.
This concern forced Kunal and Prakash to think. He decided why not make such a device by which dung could be picked up without using hands, without bending and without dirt. After a long time of experimentation and hard work, he prepared a ‘dung collector machine’ at a cost of only ₹ 500.
This machine is completely manual. Apart from this it is light. It is so easy that anyone can learn to use it in seconds. Its specialty is that it collects the dung at one place without spreading it, due to which the manure remains clean and the risk of infection is significantly reduced.
Both the students did not stop here
These two students further thought that since cow dung has been collected, why not make it easier to make cow dung. This thinking gave birth to ‘Gobar Upla Making Machine’. This machine prepares excellent and uniform cakes by pressing cow dung in uniform shape. This not only reduces the effort, but also makes it possible to make more quantity of cow dung cakes in less time, which is an important source of fuel in rural homes.
The importance of these two machines will increase in the coming times, because cleanliness, labor saving and infection prevention have become very important in villages. This innovation of Kunal and Prakash shows that if the thinking is clear and the aim is for the welfare of the society, then even limited resources can achieve great achievements. Their efforts can change the direction of rural technology not only in Jharkhand but in the entire country.
