Bihar government will today transfer ₹10,000 each to the accounts of 10 lakh Jeevika Didis under ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana’. Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar said that this amount will be given to 9.5 lakh rural and 50,000 urban women. This scheme is considered important in the election victory of NDA.
Patna: Even after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) got an overwhelming majority in the Bihar Assembly elections, the state government is giving priority to its election promises. Usually, government promises are forgotten after elections, but today i.e. Friday (November 28) the Bihar government is going to transfer an amount of ₹10,000 each to the bank accounts of 10 lakh women.
Big step of Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme
This amount is being given to the beneficiaries of ‘Jeevika Didi Scheme’ under the state government’s ambitious ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana’. Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar informed that out of these beneficiaries, about 9.5 lakh women are from rural areas, while 50,000 women belong to urban areas. All these women are associated with Jeevika Group, a state government initiative, which aims to empower rural women socially and economically.
The minister said that this amount will be distributed in different phases and all eligible beneficiaries will get this payment by December 14.
Till now 1.4 crore women have got the benefits
Nitish government has already sent an amount of ₹ 10,000 to the accounts of 1 crore 40 lakh women under this scheme. This money is being sent to the remaining women on 28th November. It is believed that this scheme has played a big role in NDA’s victory in Bihar election results.
The scheme does not stop here, the government will also provide additional financial assistance of up to ₹ 2 lakh to women who establish successful businesses under ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana’. Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar assured that in the coming months also the government is planning to announce more new initiatives for the empowerment of women. Even during the election campaign, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had described this scheme as an important step to increase employment in the state.
