UP Police Encounter: UP Police is continuously checking in different districts and encountering criminals and tightening the noose on crime. Due to police activity in Varanasi, Sonbhadra and Jhansi, many smugglers and history-sheeters were arrested, some were injured and illegal weapons were recovered from their possession.
Lucknow. UP Police took separate actions in Varanasi and Sonbhadra to crack down on cow smugglers. During checking at Phulpur police station area (Varanasi) and Khaliyari-Darma road (Sonbhadra), smugglers fired at the police, but the police retaliated with courage and promptness. In this action, many smugglers were injured and arrested, while illegal weapons and cattle were recovered from their possession.
Smugglers opened fire on the police team during checking on Sindhuria Road in Varanasi. In the retaliation, Abhishek Yadav alias Golu, who was wanted in several cow smuggling cases, was injured. Police caught him and sent him to the hospital for treatment, while illegal pistol and live cartridges were recovered from the spot. (Ravi Pandey)

A joint team of Raipur police station and Manchi police station caught two smugglers during checking on Khaliyari-Darma road in Sonbhadra. Ziaul alias Ziauddin was shot in the leg and was sent to CHC Waini Hospital. The second smuggler Rishu Yadav alias Vikas Yadav surrendered and was arrested on the spot. Police recovered 07 Rashi cows, 01 illegal country made pistol of 315 bore and live cartridges from the possession of the accused. Police are interrogating the arrested and injured smugglers so that the entire network can be traced. Police arrested history-sheeter Karan alias Krishnapal, carrying a reward of Rs 15,000, during an encounter in Premnagar police station area of Jhansi. During the encounter, the criminal was injured by a bullet in his leg and was immediately admitted to the hospital. According to the police, Karan was absconding for a long time in the theft case. During the arrest, an illegal pistol and two empty cartridges were recovered from his possession. Premnagar police station has registered a case against the accused and started investigation.
