Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute professor David W. Greening and Dr. Elaine Roy have made a complete map of these nano-sized packets called extracellular vesicles (EVs) present in the blood. These little packets each time provide information about your body – like a letter.
It was difficult to separate from blood
It was very difficult for scientists to separate these packets from blood because blood also contains many other things, like cholesterol and antibodies, but now this has become possible in a new way. They discovered 182 proteins and 52 lipids that make up these packets.
It will be easy to detect fatal disease
This discovery will be very helpful for doctors. They have already discovered traces of some packets that can quickly identify heart disease. This means that in future we will be able to easily detect the disease through blood test. The doctor said, “Now we can understand how our cells talk to each other and knowing this will help in the treatment of diseases.”
