A young man from Darbhanga got the sandalwood plant from Hyderabad treated in Ranchi, then brought it to Patna and then planted these trees in Darbhanga. If it becomes successful then the fate of this young man will change because sandalwood tree is sold very expensive.
Darbhanga: Gautam Chaudhary, a young man from Darbhanga, has started gardening on a large scale in Darbhanga by bringing 100 white sandalwood and 5 red sandalwood trees from Hyderabad. This effort is quite challenging in itself, because it is not easy to plant such a large number of sandalwood trees in this area.
Gautam Choudhary told that he kept the sandalwood sapling from Hyderabad in Ranchi and got it treated, then brought it to Patna and after that he planted these trees in Darbhanga. He told that of the trees that have been planted in it, there are 105 sandalwood trees, out of which 100 trees are of white sandalwood and 5 trees are of red sandalwood. Gautam Chaudhary told that earlier he had also planted mahogany and teak. Their objective is to see whether this tree becomes successful here or not. A total of Rs 7 to 8 lakh has been spent so far, which includes building the boundary for security, digging soil, providing water and adding vermi compost.
Unique effort to plant sandalwood tree in Darbhanga
This effort of Gautam Chaudhary is a unique effort not only for Darbhanga but for the entire Bihar. He says that if this tree becomes successful here, it will benefit the farmers and the economy of Bihar will also improve. So a better effort is being made by this young man from Darbhanga and 105 sandalwood trees have been planted as a trial, if it becomes successful then the fate of this young man will change because sandalwood tree is sold very expensive.
Trees sell for lakhs
Let us tell you that sandalwood is sold for about 5 to 6 thousand rupees per kg. Besides, the oil extracted from its roots is also sold for around Rs 70 to 80 thousand per kg. One sandalwood tree can earn around Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh.
