He stayed there for two years and took farming training and then returned to his village and started organic farming on 6 acres of land. Today he grows many types of vegetables like radish, coriander, spinach, brinjal and cauliflower and sells them in the markets of Dhanbad and nearby areas. During this time he also worked for LIC. Due to his financial condition not being strong, he used to help in farming in his free time. Plowing the fields with a spade was a very laborious and time consuming task for them. But now he has started plowing the field with Rotavator machine. Due to which both time and labor are being saved.
Amit has planted Lucky variety of cauliflower in one acre. About 20,000 plants have been planted, which he himself prepares in the nursery. With balanced use of urea, potash and cow dung manure, this crop is ready in 60–65 days. In Dhanbad market, traders buy it for ₹ 20 per piece, while it reaches the customer for ₹ 25 to ₹ 30. There is a possibility of production of about 18,000 heads of cauliflower in one season.
