Kunwar Masood Ali, the last and 20th descendant of the Hasanpur princely state, tells that Shershah Suri came to Sultanpur around 1540. However, there is no authentic basis for the coming year. During the time of Sher Shah Suri, the Grand Trunk Road was being built from Delhi to Peshawar in Pakistan. At this time, Shershah came to Sultanpur in connection with the survey of Suri Road, the purpose of which was to stay here only for two days, but ultimately he had to stay here for 19 days.

Shershah Suri not only came alone but the entire army also came with him. There were elephants, horses and thousands of soldiers in the army. Shershah Suri entered the fort through the gate located on the south side of Hasanpur Fort (present-day Imambara). The incident of Shershah Suri coming to Sultanpur is considered very important for a small district like Sultanpur.
The gate is made of this thing
The gate through which Shershah Suri entered was made of Lakhauri bricks. A plank of precious wood has been installed at its main entrance. But if we talk about the present situation, then this gate has now become dilapidated and this gate has also been completely closed, the address installed in this gate has fallen on the ground and the bricks of the pillar adjacent to the ground have also gradually decayed. If it is not repaired it may collapse at any time.
