9 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will open in Lakhisarai, Barhiya and Suryagarha

Now health services will become more accessible and closer than ever in the urban areas of Lakhisarai district. The state government has given approval to establish a total of nine Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Health and Wellness Centers) in Lakhisarai, Barhiya and Suryagarha under the Urban Health Mission. City residents will no longer need to go to referral hospital, CHC or Sadar Hospital for minor medical check-ups, vaccinations and regular health check-ups. Earlier, several times in ground reports, questions had been raised on the health system in Lakhisarai district. But this time the people here have come up with good news.

District Health Committee tried
According to the District Health Committee, five centers will be built in Lakhisarai Municipal Council area, while two centers each will be built in Barhiya and Suryagadha. The administration has also started identifying land for these centres. Vidyapeeth Chowk in Lakhisarai, KSS College, R. Lal College, Ashok Dham and Charokhara of Ward No. 18 have been identified for setting up the centre. In Barhiya, the area between ward number 6 and 7 and Indupur ward number 24, while in Suryagarha, Jagdishpur and Katehar have been considered suitable places. DPM Sudhanshu Narayan Lal said that apart from Charokhara and Vidyapeeth Chowk of Lakhisarai, land has been made available at both the places of Suryagarha. At the same time, the Municipal Council has been instructed to provide land for three centers in Lakhisarai and two in Barhiya. At least 6 decimal land is required for the operation of each centre.

According to district level officials, with the opening of these new urban health centres, services like vaccination, blood pressure check, sugar test, treatment of minor diseases, check-up of pregnant women will be available at the locality level.
